Official Source Checklist For Dog-Friendly Outings

Keep a short evidence record for each place you intend to visit. This worksheet is for saving what you checked; use the rule-conflict guide when two sources disagree.

Your Place Evidence Record

• Place name and town, plus the exact entrance or seating area.
• Official source link and the date you read it.
• The visit date and hours you are planning.
• Dog access: allowed, prohibited, conditional, or still unknown.
• Conditions: leash, permitted zone, seasonal dates, permits, or event exceptions.
• Unresolved question and the person or office that can answer it.

Record Scope, Not Just A Yes

A useful note might read: “Example Park, north path; checked the parks department page today; leashed access described for the path; beach access not established.” This is a fictional example, not a real destination recommendation. The unresolved beach question stays visible instead of becoming an assumed permission.

Separate Published Information From Direct Confirmation

If you called a business, record when you called and the area discussed. Do not turn a conversation about one afternoon into a permanent policy claim. If you only read a visitor review, mark it as a third-party lead. A photo can suggest a layout but cannot establish current permission.

What Makes A Record Outdated?

Recheck when your date, entrance, activity, or event changes. There is no universal number of days that makes every dog policy reliable. Keep a link to the source so checking again is quick; do not merely copy a sentence without its context.

A Real Boundary Example

Vancouver identifies designated dog areas at Spanish Banks rather than giving unrestricted permission for the whole beach. Recording only “Spanish Banks allows dogs” loses the detail needed on arrival. Save the specific area and the official reference. Vancouver’s Spanish Banks page.
